We are happy to see that baskets from our village Sherigu starts spreading to the world. Earlier this year some of our baskets were shipped to Norway, and last weekend they were sold in a popular handicraft Sunday market in Oslo. This market is held at Blå every Sunday, and you will meet artists selling their handicrafts they produce themselves, some vintage used clothes and items, and fair trade products from different parts of the world. Despite the cold weather and icy roads, many people visited the market that Sunday. Several people were impressed of the nice handwoven baskets from northern Ghana, and we even got some potential business partners from the day at the market. Hopefully by summer, our baskets will be shipped to Norway to be sold in online shops and markets on a regular basis. Some few baskets are still for sale in Norway, you can head over to this page to see a selection of baskets for sale. If you find some you like, and would like to order directly from us – feel free to get in touch.
